Itinerary
You’ll start your journey by arriving in Dehradun (either by train, bus, or flight). After arrival, you’ll drive for approximately 6-7 hours to reach Sankri, the base camp for the trek. The drive takes you through scenic hill stations, winding roads, and villages, offering beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Once you reach Sankri, check into your accommodation and take time to acclimatize and prepare for the trek.

Today is the most exciting and challenging day of the trek — the summit day! The journey begins early, usually around 2:00 to 3:00 AM, to reach the Kedarkantha summit in time for sunrise. With headlamps lighting the way, the trail starts with a steep and steady climb through pine forests and snow-covered slopes. As you gain altitude, the air becomes colder and thinner, but the anticipation of reaching the summit keeps spirits high. After 3 to 4 hours of ascent, you’ll reach the majestic Kedarkantha peak, standing tall at 12,500 feet. The effort is rewarded with breathtaking 360-degree views of snow-capped Himalayan giants like Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, Black Peak, and even parts of Himachal Pradesh. After spending some time at the summit soaking in the incredible views and clicking photos, you’ll begin the descent. The return journey retraces your steps back to the base camp and then continues further down to Juda-ka-Talab, taking another 3 to 4 hours. Cancellation Policy
- If cancellation is made 30 days or more before the date of travel, 25.0% of total booking cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
- If cancellation is made between 15 days to 30 days before the date of travel, 50.0% of total booking cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
- If cancellation is made 0 days to 15 days before the date of travel then 100.0% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
- In the event of unforeseen weather conditions, union issues, government restrictions or any other circumstances beyond human control, certain trips or activities may be cancelled. In such cases, alternate feasible options will be provided. However, a cash refund will not be available.

- 100.0% of total tour cost will have to be paid 15 days before the date of booking.
Confirmation Policy
- The customer receives a confirmation voucher via email within 24 hours of successful booking.
- In case the preferred slots are unavailable, an alternate schedule of the customer’s preference will be arranged and a new confirmation voucher will be sent via email.
- Alternatively, the customer may choose to cancel their booking before confirmation and a full refund will be processed.

Things You Should Know Before Trekking to Kedarkantha
- The weather and oxygen levels in high altitudes differ from the plains. Take enough time to acclimatize to avoid altitude sickness. Keep yourself hydrated and eat light meals during the trek.
- Avoid carrying plastic bags and help us maintain the ecological balance of the region. This is an eco-friendly zone. Littering at campsites or trails is strictly prohibited and may attract fines.
- Water is precious in the mountains, please use it wisely.
- Night trekking is not allowed unless mentioned in the itinerary and supervised by an expert guide. Avoid using earphones while trekking for your safety. Always follow the instructions of your trek leader and guides.
- Follow all State Government guidelines. Maintain social distancing, sanitize your hands frequently, and wear masks when required.
- A valid ID proof is required at the time of check-in. The exact meeting point and location details will be shared after booking.
- Clean and well-maintained vehicles with experienced drivers will be provided, especially for hilly routes.
- Camping facilities are basic. Do not expect luxury. Electricity and charging points may be available only at common points or limited locations. Carry essential snacks, dry fruits, and a refillable water bottle for convenience.
- Be prepared for cold temperatures: 8°C to 15°C during the day and -5°C to 3°C at night. Pack thermals, heavy jackets, gloves, caps, and good quality trekking shoes.
- Children below 7 years are not recommended for this trek.
- Alcohol and intoxicants are strictly prohibited during the trek.
- Weather conditions may affect the itinerary; the management reserves the right to make necessary changes in case of emergencies.
- Transportation to and from Dehradun can be arranged on request at an additional cost.
- Personal expenses, items of personal nature, and meals not mentioned in the package are excluded.
- All treks are led by professional guides to ensure safety and provide essential knowledge of the trail.
- All itineraries are planned based on the information available at the time of booking. However, they are subject to change due to weather conditions, roadblocks, transportation delays, government regulations, or any other unforeseen circumstances. "SaffarKaro" reserves the right to modify expedition dates, routes, or itineraries as necessary to ensure safety and feasibility.
- If a trip is delayed or the itinerary changes due to factors beyond our control (bad weather, landslides, political unrest, flight/train cancellations, or health issues), any additional costs incurred will be borne by the participant. No reimbursement will be provided for missed services or facilities due to such changes. In case of roadblocks caused by landslides or any natural causes, "SaffarKaro" will re-plan the itinerary in real-time. However, any additional accommodation or transport costs due to such changes will be borne by the traveler, as pre-booked hotels follow strict cancellation policies.
- If any activity or the trek is not completed due to personal reasons or external factors (natural or otherwise), no refund will be processed. If a traveler decides to leave the trek midway, all expenses from that point onwards will be the traveler’s responsibility.
- If a trekker is sent back by the trek leader due to health issues, lack of fitness, AMS (Altitude Mountain Sickness), or rule violations (such as smoking, drinking, or misbehavior), no refund or compensation will be provided.
- Any changes in the package (number of participants, hotel upgrades, itinerary modifications, etc.) after booking will lead to additional charges borne by the client.
- We rarely cancel treks. However, in extreme situations like continuous heavy snowfall, rain, landslides, floods, earthquakes, political unrest, curfews, pandemics, government restrictions, or any condition that compromises safety, "SaffarKaro" reserves the right to call off the trek. In such cases, a credit voucher equal to your trek fee will be issued, which can be redeemed for any "SaffarKaro" trek within the next 12 months.
